Simone Singh, who is an assistant superintendent of police, is on the way to find Doll Maker, who is a ruthless and savage killer who dresses up the victims as Barbie dolls and displays the bodies in the glass cases.
There is another police officer- Irshad Hussain, who is the superintendent of police and is in search of another serial killer-Clipper, who enjoyed nine years of infancy as India's most notorious butcher. Doll maker takes the attention of media, this makes Clipper jealous and he tries to regain his lost limelight. Both serial killer starts competing with each other for attention, and this leaves both Simone and Irshad frustrated. The second half is just fabulous. The twists and turns in the story are just mind-blowing.
Simone Singh is a fearless, hardworking, and smart police officer. She was a topper in her class but lacked social skills. Zoya is well-developed and is very energetic and enthusiastic. She is struggling with deep personal trauma. Despite this, Zoya remains unyielding when it comes to solving cases.
I liked Zoya's character the most. She is an empathetic officer and a good partner to Simone Singh, even though Simone is rude to her most of the time. She is a strong female.
The Author has nicely blended the two stories beautifully and is well-narrated. I appreciate the writer's writing skills. I would love to read more like this.
It is a perfect psycho-thriller book. I strongly recommend this to those who love murder mysteries and psych thrillers. It could be disturbing for a few as it has a plot describing childhood trauma and homophobia.
